I will show you how to get the best out of your camera and take your photography to the next level in three short workshops I run locally in Benfleet Essex.

About Our Photography Training Workshops
We have put together three workshops to help anyone looking to gain more advanced camera skills. You can do any one or more workshops, it’s your choice!
Our workshops are for anyone with a DSLR , mirrorless or an advanced compact camera which allows you to use speed priority, aperture priority and manual modes.
The structure of our photography training is that we keep to small groups so I can give each delegate sufficient time. We meet up at Hadleigh Castle in Benfleet Essex and after a three-hour workshop. We go to Morrisons in Hadleigh for a cuppa and a snack included in the cost. Whilst enjoying a brew, we can go over the photos captured during the workshop, discuss and I will also do a Q&A session at the end for any last-minute questions you may have.
Schedule
- 09:00 – Meet at the Hadleigh castle entrance
- 09:15 – Workshop commences after we are all together and made our way to the main castle grounds
- 12:15 – Workshops Finishes
- 12:30 – Meet at Morissons Hadleigh Cafe
- 13:20 – Ten minute Q&A Session

Camera Fundamental Workshop
The camera fundamentals workshop covers the fundamentals of photography including a proper understanding of your camera. I talk you through the different modes on your camera in detail, talk about autofocus and white balance. You will learn about aperture and how this impacts the depth of field and light in your photos. We also talk and learn about shutter speed and ISO.

Intermediate Skills Workshop
The intermediate skills workshop covers the fundamentals of photography including a proper understanding of your camera. When and why to use auto or manual focus including discussing the different autofocus setting and modes. We will also cover the different metering modes and when you would select each. Understand the different between RAW and JPEG images and finally a little on using ND filters.

Advanced Techniques Workshop
The advanced techniques workshop builds on the skills taught in the intermediate skills workshop. We cover the advanced setting of photography including working with flash on and off camera, full manual where you control the shutter speed, aperture and ISO of the camera. Finally, exposure compensation when using flash.

How do I book one of your training workshops?

What if the weather is bad on the day?
Don’t panic! I will be keeping a close eye on the weather and if the conditions are not good, we will re-schedule the workshop or alternatively we may be able to go into a studio if available.
Do I need to take notes?
You are more than welcome to take notes, but I want you to get as much out of the workshop as possible. So I will be providing a printed handout on the workshop to cover the topics covered so you can refer to this if you forget anything.
What if I have to cancel?
We understand life doesn’t always go to plan, if you need to cancel for a family emergency or you or your children are sick, we will happily reschedule your workshop for you, however we only re-schedule once per workshop.
What camera do I need to do one of your workshops?
You will need any DSLR, Mirrorless or advanced compact camera which allow you a lot of control. It must be able to work in the following modes, shutter priority, aperture priority and manual.
